Silver Lake College Presents Choral and Instrumental Concert

The Silver Lake College Fall Choral and Instrumental Concert will be held on Friday, October 15th at 7:30 pm in the Silver Lake College Chapel, located at 2406 South Alverno Road in Manitowoc. The concert will feature the Jazz Ensemble and Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Jeremiah Eis, and the Silver Lake College Chorale and Concert Choir, directed by Damon Carlson.

The Silver Lake Jazz Ensemble will open the concert with a series of jazz favorites. Selections include Ain’t Misbehavin, Moonlight in Vermont, How About You, featuring vocalist Tammy Reigel, and 25 or 6 to 4.  The Silver Lake Wind Ensemble will conclude the instrumental portion of the concert with Overture for Winds by Charles Carter, Shenandoah by Frank Ticheli, Currents by Robert W. Smith, and The Conqueror by Carl Teike.

The Silver Lake Chorale and Concert Choir will present an eclectic mix of music.  The Concert Choir will feature contemporary music from composers such as Z. Randall Stroope, Randall Thompson and Howard Helvey, as well as a delightful setting of Feller from Fortune, a Newfoundland folksong.  The Silver Lake Chorale will present works from the Renaissance through contemporary stylistic periods from composers such as William Byrd, Anton Bruckner, Randall Thompson and Noël Goemanne.
