Senior Trumpet Recital to be performed by Jennifer Rivera

Jennifer Rivera, a student of Instrumental and General Music at Silver Lake College will present her senior recital on trumpet on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 7:30 P.M. in the Silver Lake College Chapel. Sandra Stevens, now retired from SLC, will accompany Jennifer on the piano.

 During the past two semesters, Jennifer has been preparing her recital under the direction of both Ted Pierce and Chris Woller. Among the selections to be performed in the recital are “Fanfare and Horn Pipe from Water Music” by G.F. Handel, “Contempora Suite” by Gordon Young and “Suite for Trumpet and Piano” by Orlando Gibbons.

While at SLC, Jennifer has been a member of Concert Choir and the Silver Lake Chorale and has performed on the saxophone in the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble. Rivera has also been an active member of the Music Educators National Conference (MENC) Student Chapter of SLC as well as the SLC Student Form. Between the 2008-2010 school years, she served as president of the MENC organization and represented the school at the MENC conference in Madison, Wisconsin.

Currently, Jennifer is the Director of Bands at Chilton Area Catholic School, teaches Music For Tots™ at SLC and gives private saxophone lessons at Mad About Music in Manitowoc. Jennifer is a resident of Armstrong Creek, Wisconsin and a graduate of Evergreen Park Community High School in Evergreen Park, Illinois.
