Fall Season Premier Concert at Silver Lake College

The Silver Lake College Music Department will begin its concert season with a Fall Choral Concert set for Friday, October 9^th at 7:30 pm in the Silver Lake College Chapel located at 2406 South Alverno Road in Manitowoc.  The concert, which is free and open to the public, will showcase the talents of the Concert Choir, the Silver Lake Chorale, and the newly formed “Somer Singers”, a 6 voice a cappella group composed of Silver Lake Alumni and Staff.

 The concert will feature primarily traditional a cappella choral literature with several spiritual and gospel pieces as well.  One of the more unique pieces, “Saul” by Egil Hovland, incorporates both narration and accompaniment intertwined with the singers. According to Dr. Perry D. White, Director of Choral Activities, “this concert is designed to feature a wide a variety of great choral literature that is intended to kick off our concert season.”
